    Verse of the Day

God is a jealous God. He wants all of us, not just what we have left over at the end of the week. What we are searching for and chasing after reveals the god that is winning the war in our hearts. Which one has its grip on you? The god of food, sex, entertainment, success, money, achievement, romance, family, yourself?

  • Today’s verse of the day is more than just one verse. In my searching this morning for 36:17 for 3/6/17, the Lord led me to Proverbs 3:6. As I read this verse, I felt His gentle nudging to dig deeper.

  • What’s In a Name?

    March 3, 2017
    Verse of the Day

    whats-in-a-name

Have you ever stopped to think about how a name can set us on course? The very definition of one’s name has the ability to propel us into our destiny; the God ordained mission for our lives.

A few days ago, one of my husband’s students sent him a text regarding his letterman jacket. He explained that he hated his first name and was wanting to know if he could just use his last name only. My husband asked him why he didn’t like it. He simply just hated the name. So I took that as a challenge to help this young man step into his destiny. I googled the meaning of his name and found something I had feeling would change everything. We sent him what it meant and his response was exactly what I expected it to be. Pure excitement. He was suddenly in awe of his name because it was no longer just a name, but now it carried a promise.

Have you ever looked up the meaning of your name? If you haven’t, I highly encourage you to do so. You may be amazed at how you either are a direct reflection of your name or that God has given you a promise within the context of the very meaning.

    Be Blessed!

  • This morning as I was contemplating which picture to share for my verse of the day, I ran across this one. At first, I didn’t want to share this particular picture because it is very difficult to see the actual verse. But then God said, “Share this one!” As a sat in silence, listening for Him, He shared this:

“My children often want my promises to be fed to them; brought to them without requiring any work on their end. Sometimes that is exactly what I do, but other times I require a little digging on your part so that intimacy with me is deepened!”
